The Prologue New Play Festival showcases new plays from Taiwan through staged readings. We select works by playwrights who explore bold ideas, offer fresh perspectives, and experiment with form and style. More than just a launchpad for new work, the festival serves as a bridge between playwrights and audiences, inviting conversation, reflection, and connection.

The Playwright in Focus Festival introduces Taiwanese audiences to the body of work by a single playwright. By presenting staged readings of plays from different stages of their career, the festival traces the evolution of the writer’s voice and artistic vision. It offers a space for both the playwright and the audience to look back, reflect, and explore how far they’ve come together.

Beyond Taiwan is Prologue’s overseas play reading program, through which we translate Taiwanese plays into multiple languages to be reinterpreted by local actors abroad. By presenting these works in the form of staged readings, we allow Taiwanese stories to be heard within diverse cultural contexts, while broadening the horizons for Taiwan’s theatrical talent and their works.
