Wei-Cheng Zhao
Wei-Cheng Zhao is a theatre director and playwright who holds an MFA in Playwriting from the Taipei National University of the Arts. He is the founder and director of xiǎngxiàng Theatre.
His creative practice often explores the evolution of popular culture, the dynamics of different generations, and the multifaceted nature of myths and legends. In his writing, Zhao experiments with diverse linguistic strategies; as a director, he favors devised theatre and collective creation, weaving everyday experiences into fictional narratives.
Zhao has collaborated with theatre companies such as O Echo.Co Studio, Stone Theatre, and R.O.D Theatre.

Nezha and Wukong (哪吒與悟空) was awarded a development grant from the National Culture and Arts Foundation in 2022.
