Kuan-Ting Lin

2024/25 Resident Artist

Kuan-Ting Lin

Kuan-Ting Lin is a Taipei-based playwright and translator whose practice revolves around the nuances of theatrical text. He holds a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures with a minor in Drama and Theatre from National Taiwan University.

He launched his writing career as a resident artist at Believe in Next Generation, where he lived in a historic military village near Songshan Airport. This immersive experience inspired his debut play, Long Live the Mango Tree, a site-specific exploration of Taiwanese diaspora history. The work has since garnered international attention, receiving invitations for staged readings at the Cheongju International New Play Festival and the RE:BOUND Festival in Seoul, South Korea.

Alongside writing, his translation credits include Duncan Macmillan’s Every Brilliant Thing and Lungs, both produced by 4 Chairs Theatre. Whether through translation or original playwriting, Kuan-Ting’s work continues to facilitate cultural dialogue through the power of the written word.
