'26 International Resident Artist
Alastor Chow
Alastor is one of the few young Hong Kong theatre practitioners who can take on both roles of creator and producer.
In his creative work, Alastor is dedicated to exploring diverse playwriting techniques, harnessing the imagination nature of theatre to transform it into an innovative narrative space. His background as an athlete also lends him particular skill in crafting text about physical movement. While Sparrows that Live On (Fear) is an example of the innovation to build a European new-writing style, Ping Pong and Drifters’ Monologues shows a high-spirited and epic narrative style of writing.
As a producer, Alastor has organized theatre, community and school projects, which serve professional art groups, such as Chung Ying Theatre Company and Hong Kong Dance Company, and also the seniors, teenagers and students as participants.
Alastor also serves as a dramaturg and translator, and also one of the core members of Theatre Formula.
